Until recently, the club had a quarterly magazine entitled the Hazel Grove Chord. It contained News, Views and articles on a variety of subjects. The main source of these is the club membership, but articles from external sources have made their way onto the "Chord" pages. The club members recently voted to discontinue the magazine and instead produce one magazine for the annual club exhibition.
The name is derived from a rail link that was added some ten years ago, between two lines that cross but did not join at Hazel Grove. The banner on the magazine is a loose graphical representation of this rail interchange. The chord line will be 20 years old on the 29th April 2006 which is the anniversary of the date it was officially opened.
The following past articles from the Chord are available in these pages:
What is Gauge '0' ? A brief history of Gauge '0', plus a comparison of the main '0' track standards.
I.C.I. Hopper Wagon. A history and description of hopper wagons used by I.C.I.
Tools & Usage.Part 1. and Tools & Usage.Part 2. A series of articles describing the use and maintenance of modelling tools.
